Review of Syriana (2005) by Paulita C — 01 May 2011
A good political thriller. Damon steals the show as a grieving father turned tycoon. While the story of the Pakistani migrant workers is well crafted, the motivation for the terrorist attack does not develop.
Despite Amr Waked's great performance as the intelligent freedom fighter, the laid off migrant workers don't get enough screen time to become sympathetic in their final act. Perhaps the director is exploring the lack of motivation for such acts in the first place.
