Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Stefan K — 26 Mar 2010
This movie felt longer than the extended version of lord of the rings....combined. even after I stopped paying attention, an hour rolled by and I thought "is that movie still on?" and what's happening every time I look up? well there is some depressing jon brion piano music going on and a sad, pensive look on phillip seymour hoffman's face.
I love job brion. I like phillip seymour hoffman. and still this stunk. I get it. well, sort of. old age, sickness, death is disturbing. it can be a pretty thought provoking issue, but this didn't go anywhere.
it didn't have anything redeeming about that line of thinking, nor did it explore it in a way that registered with me at all. pretentious, boring, and lonnggg.
