Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Douglas D — 08 May 2010
The emotions and themes are real; 'Synecdoche, New York' is a great film you likely missed. Although it starts out a bit slow and the characters are hard to love (the film and plot are pretentious and preposterous), the ever increasingly convoluted plot is grounded with great performances and a universal message that is effective in its humanity.
The flaws may bother some, but the feelings inspired by 'Synecdoche, New York' are real. I recommend taking a chance like I did and checking out this unnoticed gem.
