Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Jeff D — 07 Jan 2012
Synecdoche, New York aims for art house greatness and ends up a complete disaster. Charlie Kaufman's dive into the inner psyche of what makes an artist is as aimless as it is ambitious. As wild as the film pretends to be, it couldn't be any more generic in the visual sense.
Charlie Kaufman's wild musings are better displayed when a more capable director handles the material.
