Review of Syndromes and a Century (2006) by Michael W — 13 Jan 2009
I thought this film was beautiful. I loved how the two segments mirrored each other but could never be exactly the same - I don't think I understood it completely but I got the sense that the second segment was after the original characters were reincarnated.
..therefore it makes sense that there would be similarities between the two but because of the change of times and modernization that there would be alterations. The cinematography was phenomenal, the performances were solid, and the screenplay (while cryptic) captured some very original and honest moments.
I love the naturalism that this film conveys and the mixture of the surreal - very unique.
