Review of Sympathy for the Underdog (1971) by Max F — 15 Nov 2007
Kinji Fukasaku is the master of the freeze frame. He's also the master of the hip and hard hitting Yakuza movie. A great jazz soundtrack, ahead-of-it's-time steady-cam work, and a hard boiled performance by Koji Tsuruta make this another under-seen 70s gem.
