What do El Mariachi and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance have in common? They were both superseded by much better sequels! Its my fault for watching Oldboy first but all the same you can tell that they have similar roots but that Oldboy was a much more evolved story by comparison.
The trouble with this flick is it takes awhile to build up and after it does pickup you just feel like you waiting for something crazy to happen...its true towards the end it gets a bit gruesome, but it all feels kinda empty in the end.
here's hoping Lady Vengeance ends the trilogy with a bang and not a whimper.
