Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Otto L — 06 Mar 2010
One of those movies where everything that could go wrong _will_ go wrong.. and that's more or less the driving force behind the story.
The tempo's too slow and uneventful for my taste, but someone else might enjoy that in the movie..
The dialogue is partly written, partly in sign language 'cos the main character is deaf 'n' dumb and this makes the movie quite entertaining because a lot of the action is closely linked to the 'handicap' (the guy works in a loud industrial factory.. lives beneath couple who argues 24/7 etc. ).
Vengeance plays a somewhat minor role in the first half of the movie, but the last 30mins is focused on this issue and what it brings with it..
Don't watch this.. choose Oldboy instead.
