Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Nina B — 04 Jan 2013

If you like your gore in great quantity without a whole lot of meaningful plot getting in the way then this movie is for you. Most people I think, however, will find this movie leaves them feeling cold.

There is no justice or reason to what happens here. I admire the director's ability to create intriguing compositions with the camera. Blood and gore and even urine are used quite cinematically here.

Unfortunately I often got the feeling that this movie was filmed solely in order to create those visions and I often find myself shaking my head and saying to myself, "This makes no damn sense.".
