Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Xen K — 23 Apr 2010
The first of Park Chan-Wook's vengeance trilogy is a beautiful and haunting film about the consequences of revenge. Unlike most revenge stories where the character loses someone, then turns into a one man army killing anyone remotely responsible, this film dealt with revenge in a more realistic manner with consequences for everyones actions.
