Review of Swordfish (2001) by Cody S — 08 May 2011
This looks like a overblown graduate student film with it's pretty colour filters, ludicrously long action shots, and a soundtrack that appears to have been ripped off from a 90s rave or video game.
The "fashion" and scenery leave no mystery as to why a foreigner might have such a warped idea of the American way of life. How about that gratuitous shot of Halle Berry? You know the one. And why does Hugh Jackson's 10-year-old daughter dress like a undeclared arts major questioning her sexual orientation? The script is overwritten, with dialogue that is way too smug for it's own good.
That's all for this review, my ending is about as imaginative as the film's.
