Review of Swordfish (2001) by Huw G — 03 Apr 2014
This film was fun. It felt unique and it was quite exciting in spots and it was fun seeing a young Hugh Jackman do his thing. I don't think I've seen a film like this before, it was all over the place, but in a good way and there really wasn't that much typing on computers, this wasn't The Social Network or anything (not saying that movie was bad but it certainly had way more computer usage than this did) It had a really cool panning shot at the start and I think John Travolta played a good villain even if his facial hair was a little questionable and I think it's funny that Travolta is talking about good acting at the start, especially after the fact this came out soon after Battlefield Earth did, I like Travolta but I'm sure that made quite a few people laugh, but it's nice to see that he's not afraid to play the bad guy now and then.
And the ending was brilliant. At the end of the day, this movie has it's fans and it'll always be a fun little time waster and I can see myself watching it again. Its a fun silly summer action movie and thats all it wanted to be.
