"SHIPWRECKED ON A TROPICAL ISLAND".
- 'Swiss Family Robinson' is one of the eldest Disney adventure movies (dates from 1960) and based on the 1812 novel by Johann David Wyss. In this perfect story that will enlighten the imagination of children, we follow a shipwrecked family who builds a home on a tropical island. Maybe it does feel a bit dated, but I'm sure everyone will love this movie, due to the involvement of pirates and all sorts of animals. I would recommend on seeing it.
After being chased by pirates and abandoned by the captain and crew, a Swiss family on their way to New Guinea finds themselves shipwrecked. With the pirates still lurking, the father and his two eldest sons create a raft to reach a nearby island. There the family discovers the place is uninhabited. While youngest son Francis investigates the wildlife and mother searches for food, the others begin the construction of a tree house. They use parts of their stranded boat and even get to save the animals on board. Shortly after the building is completed, sons Fritz and Ernst begin to investigate the island and stumble upon the pirates, who have taken some people as prisoners...
