Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Luke E — 24 Jul 2016
'Swiss Army Man' is an incredibly oddball film, though already given it's reception, this film is now destined to hit the cult classics shelves. What could be more weird than a hapless young man bonding with an anthropomorphic dead corpse.
I'm not joking when I'm describing this premise, though it's really the endearing and often hilarious execution of this film that really paves the way for it being one of 2016's best as well as the most weird film of the entire year.
The incredible performances from the film's two main roles are for one outstanding, as they are fascinating as well as written with hilarious characterizations. Though it isn't just the exotic colourful visual scheme as well as the film's bold direction that makes this film hard to distinguish, it's the thoughtful and charming subject matter at play with the character's conflicts and development, really delving down to what it means to be human and asking the important questions as to 'what really matters in life?'.
Believe me when I say this film is Highly! Highly!! Highly!!! Recommended as a truly unique, original, and rewarding cinematic experience. Wherever you are? Go see this movie, Now!!! You won't regret it!!! ;).
