Review of Swingers (1996) by Jon C — 24 Sep 2014
The movie that put Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn on the map to stardom.
Their breakout roles as guys going out hoping to score some dates with women is a long and treacherous journey.
For Mike he's trying to get back in the game while also learning to let go of a bad breakup he went through.
Both guys decide to take a trip to Vegas and the rest is history.
Strange though; a majority of the film is just watching the guys work their magic, sometimes they fail sometimes they get lucky.
And Heather Graham doesn't show up until an hour and 17 min (a bit late I might add).
But I suppose the good news is that being single does have its advantages and for some of us that's all we need to move on.
There is a whole world outside our doors and we never get the new things we want unless we actually do it.
Doug Liman's directorial debut is pretty slick and snazzy to say the least.
There's not much of an actual plot going for a while but what the intent here is that even guys can have a shot.
