Review of Swing Vote (2008) by Peter E — 16 Feb 2009
A funny and touching satire on our political system. Not as strong as "Wag the Dog" or of course, "Mr. Smith," but a very enjoyable film nonetheless. Great role for Costner and he eats it up.
Cast all around is top-notch, especially the little girl who plays his daughter -- what a find! Mare Winningham has 2-3 minutes of screen time and you just wish she did more (or was offered more) films.
Glad it doesn't get hokey and predictable in developing any love story with Paula Patton. Could this all happen? No, not at all. But it is sure fun watching it. Try it out!!!
