Review of Swing Vote (2008) by Andy K — 05 Nov 2009
Watchable Kevin Costner comedy, in which a loser from small-town New Mexico is given the opportunity to choose the next President. Madeline Carroll steals the show as the politics-savvy daughter who lands her father (Costner) in the public eye.
Some genuinely funny moments, including an impromptu TV interview with a pizza delivery guy on his 'political' views, Swing Vote ticks the boxes (pun intended), but is sadly let down by a slightly unsatisfying ending, one too many silly over-the-top set-pieces and a decidedly unoriginal scene taken straight from Notting Hill.
