Review of Swing Vote (2008) by Nuwan S — 14 Oct 2010
It seems like a lot of events in the film that happen out in the open in plain view are so highly illegal and unethical. For example, would presidential candidates actually be able to meet and woo this guy when his vote decides the election? I sincerely doubt it.
Still, the movie manages to find a little piece of heart that would make Frank Capra proud. Costner's character is so blatantly unlikeable at the beginning of the movie, and believably dumb throughout the movie, and I'm glad that the film doesn't completely wallow in sentimentality like it very well could have.
Still, the movie is very cookie cutter, and you're not going to find anything you haven't seen before, but there are much worse ways to burn 2 hours.
