Review of Swing Girls (2004) by Movie K — 22 Dec 2008
What an entertaining movie. Japanese movies are unique and truly good. And featuring a bunch of girls who try to form up a jazz band even when they don't know how to play musical instrument at all.
And some of the girls are really cute and pretty especially Yuika Motokariya. The only guy in the band must be feeling damn lucky. Story starts with bunch of girls attending math make-up class and volunteer to deliver the luch boxes to the school band when the deliveryman got no time but the whole band got diarrhoea after eating and so the only guy left need to find subs for the band.
The girls initially took it as a chance to escape the boring math class and join this and intend to quit halfway but they gradually enjoy music. They were out again when the band returns and some never give up and continue to learn and practise and eventually learn well and got a chance to perform at a festival to a standing ovation.
All the music are not dubbed and the actresses really learn and play the instruments.
