Review of Swimfan (2002) by Jessica H — 04 Feb 2013
I remember the rave reviews this got when it came out. Rewatching it, I'd have to say "meh." It was pegged as the teenage version of Fatal Attraction. Erika Christensen is incredibly annoying and you constantly wish someone would just murder her.
Her ending was most unsatisfying after being forced to watch her for an hour and a half. There's also some moments that don't really work once you see them again. Why do the police handcuff Madison's hands in front of her? Why is there a cop sitting in the backseat with her? In all my years I've never seen this done before.
Finally, why does the cop who is sitting in the back with her have his gun holster unbuckled/unsecured? Stuff that sort of dawned on me back in my younger years but hit me like a ton of bricks now. I think my opinion of the movie sank much lower after that scene.
