Bastards and backstabbers have rarely been more interestingly or brilliantly rendered than this. Tony Curtis is magnetic as the desperate Sydney Falco, willling to play anyone for his success and he is more than equalled by the presence and gravitas of Burt Lancaster.
Films are rarely written this well.
