Some of the best lines i've ever heard. 'you've got more twists than a barrel of pretzels.' 'the cat's in a bag and the bag's in the river.' the characters play incredible, cool-headed mind games with each other through a maze of brilliant dialogue.
this film is the pinnacle of noir smart-talk high style. it seems to embody everything that mamet built his style around. I wish I could see this cast perform 'glengarry glen ross.' it's dark and cynical, but relishes the tone, so it's not as bleak as the period's -other- dark, cynical newspaperman movie, billy wilder's 'ace in the hole'.
