Review of Sweet Smell of Success (1957) by Adrian B — 27 Aug 2010
What a strange, fascinating and sinister character study. Both Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster are hollow, evil characters that scheme and successfully defame through a newspaper column Lancaster's sister's boyfriend for using marijuana.
The dialogue is delicious and cut throat, the acting is great, and the score is fantastic. What a wickedly cruel film and definately a cool one. Very good.
