Review of Sweet Movie (1974) by Alexander R — 10 Aug 2008

This movie is a great marriage between straight visual foreplay and narrative. It takes a style Eisenstein started with, I believe, which cuts in seemingly random images (i.e. stock footage) into the story to see what the viewer will make of it, but in this film it works.

Definitely offensive and not for the weak stomached, it also resonates with this raw urgent passion that can only come out of a director from a country like Former Yugoslavia (Serbia).
