Surreal.. poetic... political... lyrical...grotesque...
Misunderstood... phantasmagoric... elegiac...
The body politic as humour, horror, satire... life as a game show, a body art happening... death as inevitably linked to the repressed sex urge, a decaying social order, an abnegation of self... the terminus of dusan makavejev's reichian.
Syllabus... cinema as disjointed, layered, parallel links... eros/thanatos merge with no irony, but satyrical wit intact... or, to quote the film's opening dialogue:
"a window into reality.. a breath of cold air...from another world...".
A masterpiece.
