Marxist dialectic disguised as euro smut. nice try Makavejev. Interesting film, why it's criterion still leaves me in disbelief, but definitely worthy of study. the juxtaposition of extreme fetishism (vomiting, defecation, and uncircumcised penises abound) and the somewhat muddled idea s of radical thought merits this movie as art and not mere pornography, but a profoundly unbalanced one.

watching this and malpertuis in the same night while drunk makes for an interesting time.
