Review of Sweet Hostage (1975) by Gloria C — 09 Apr 2009
Brilliant movie from 1975, which was also the year of One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest so obviously a good time for depicting mental patients as the sane ones and the rest of the world as mad. Whilst OFOTCN went all out to prove its point in a very in-your-face way, this film makes the comment in a subtle and poetic way.
And who could fail to fall for Martin Sheen's beautiful young troubador? Outstanding acting and a stunning use of words and imagination make this well worth seeing even now.
