Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Navjot S — 05 Oct 2007
I thought this movie was hilarious before I got into early jazz. Now that I am into the music, I see that the movie is a hysterical satire of those charming early jazz myths and the all the scholarship that surrounds it.
Some familiar faces to the jazz world pop up now and then and the cast, especially Sean Penn, hits the nail on the head. "I'm a true artist!".
