Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Ian P — 03 Jul 2008
Delightfully biopic of fictional jazz guitarist Emmet Ray... He seems such a believable character that many have watched this film thinking it is about a real person! On the whole I much prefer Woody Allen films from the 70's, but this is the exception: easily his best film since Annie Hall.
(Shame about badly miscast Uma Thurman, but thankfully she doesn't get much screentime...).
