Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Bryan T — 09 Aug 2008
Woody Allen's most overlooked work happens to be one his very best. This is, by a mile, the most original screenplay Woody's ever written and Emmet Ray is easily one of my all-time favorite movie characters.
Penn is hysterical in my personal favorite performance of his, and Morton and Thurman are also fabulous. A masterpiece that I'm inching closer and closer to calling Woody Allen's best film. I could go on and on.
