Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Michael V — 20 Jan 2010
"Wanna go to the dump and shoot some rats?".
Sean Penn makes a great performance in a movie not really worth it. Though the real star of this movie is the music itself. Great great gutiar music pieces. And Samantha Morton gives a charming performance while never saying a word. And she was nominated for an Oscar for it. But the movie seemed lazy wasting talented actors time while they could have been making something more worthwhile. I never really cared for Woody Allen movies and this one didn't help my opinion of him.
Most awesome moment: Uma Thruman and a 1930s nightclub dress shooting rats at a dump.
