Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Jennifer A — 31 Mar 2006
My first real exposure to Woody Allen, I must confess. The performances (especially Samantha Morton) are all good. The setting is vibrant, and it's nice that the story refrains from too much grittiness and opts instead for a lighthearted little number, much in keeping with the soundtrack.
