Review of Sweet and Lowdown (1999) by Susanmitchell — 21 May 2008
Great music for the Aficionados of early jazz! One of my favorite styles of Music! And Emmet Ray was such a character! Sean Penn did an excellent job imitating the finger work of playing the Guitar! Quite a sad ending, after Emmet Ray realized that he should of stayed with Hattie the mute laundress girl, played by Samantha Morton.
The best scean is when Emmet is first talking to Hattie and she just does this pantomime that was brilliant! I can see this as a Cult Classic!
