Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Marcyt — 26 Dec 2007
Who knew Captain Jack Sparrow, Professor Snape, and Bellatrix Lestrange could sing? Now that they've each played two identical big roles in year, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter need to worry about being typecast.
A satisfyingly weird movie - singing among the gore and filth - but could have been a tad more fun. Still I thoroughly enjoyed it. All the actors were gruesomely great. Never read the book or saw the play.
At least now I know why it wasn't showing at the local dinner-and-a-movie theater.
