Having grown up in England learning about the gruesome history of London in through the 1700s and 1800s it was good to see a film that was able to depict these dark times perfectly and at the same time be very entertaining.
People who complain that this isn't as good as the original musical need to come to the realization that this film is not the original musical, and was designed to fit a broader audience.
