Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Donny M — 11 Dec 2012

I really enjoy this movie. The storyline is captivating, I love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter as actors, and Tim Burton always has great cinematography. The songs sounded great. Even watching this for a second time and knowing the ending, the gripping scenes still got me.

I think the overly-fake blood makes it bearable because there is a lot of killing but you get used to the falseness of the blood and it's not as bad. Burton keeps most of the whole movie in a very monochrome sort of color with not very many colors popping except colors like yellow (hair) and red (blood).
