Dark, humorous, and ultimately tragic. Few films can boast that. With its excellent set of musical numbers, atmospheric Gothic visuals, and superb acting, this film easily became one of the best stage to film musical adaptations.
Some might at first laugh at the highly unusual concept, but those are the people who have not yet seen it. Truly delightfully macabre.
