This is as good a movie adaptation of the popular Broadway musical as anyone could have made. The technical achievement of such an endeavor, especially Dante Ferretti's grim hellish production design, all elevate the music and story to a bloody good revenge thriller.
Depp and Bonham Carter are fantastic as well Alan Rickman and the rest of the cast. It's certainly not everyone's meat pie, but for fans and receptive audiences, the barber is heartedly welcome.
