Review of Sweeney 2 (1978) by Zahur S — 13 Jan 2008
Made in the mid '70's and despite its dated costumes this movie holds up pretty well. The action and dialogue is raw, and gritty. The ending is quite a shocker but then given the philosophy of the (spoiler alert)bank robbers, everything will end tragically.
Dspite its 70's machismo, the only characters who seem to have a bit of common sense are the female characters who are strong in an understated way and create the space for the cops to bust the crooks.
Great stuff.
