Review of S.W.A.T. (2003) by C.j. P — 27 Jun 2008
This is definitely one of the most terrilbe movies of all time. With characters lodged in that "too cool for school" mentality. All attempts at any form of intelligent humor were utterly pathetic. But don't worry, they made sure to compensate for their brainlessness by blowing SOMETHING up in just about EVERY scene, and you know those dark and scary, underground tunnels that they Have to chase the bad guys down, well if you don't, you will because they do a great job at adding to the suspense by chasing them down at least 3, each of which is More DARK, MORE SCARY, and further underground than the last.
This story was written by those kids you grew up with who were "kool", always cracking jokes but only reaping awkward silence and/or the occasional pity chuckle.
Was it entertaining? Definitely. But not, i'm sure, in the sense that they intended. The laughs I got were remeniscent of the same when watching jurassic park 3, or reading the cover of the new york best selling Romance Novel: "Deep, Dark, and Dangerous".
If they had changed a few things around, they could have gone for an action-spoof ,"the office" style.
Anyways, it was hilarious. Make sure to watch it people who won't take it serious though, otherwise you'll be in agony trying to politely hold back your risibility.
