Review of Suspiria (2018) by Micio M — 21 Jan 2019
Suspiria by Luca Guadagnino is not a horror film, but an essay on evil, and in this sense extremely stimulating from the intellectual point of view. Berlin in 1977 as a tragic and initiatory place of Evil but also of Rebirth but above all a profound reflection on the Jungian archetype of the Great Mother.
In the end, the Mother appears in her Double aspect analyzed (coincidentally) by Jung: tremendous and vindictive with those who attack their children, nourished by the blood of demons; benevolent and compassionate, bearer of Truth and Liberation towards innocent victims.
