Review of Suspiria (1977) by Joseph B — 16 Jan 2011
Dario Argento's masterpiece is a very good Giallo horror movie, that has garnered a reputation that might be unwarranted.
I liked the movie, I thought that Argento's use of color is very ahead of its time and his use of sound and music to create the atmosphere is masterful. The problem I had with this film is the poor editing, but that can be said about almost all of the Giallo films of that time.
The acting is decent, but nothing to be astonished by.
The gore is awesome, it really delivers when it has to and does not look too cheap.
For all of us who enjoy a good horror mystery or a good Giallo film, Suspiria is definitely for you. Happy hunting.
