Suspiria is an outlandish and atmospheric horror film that transcends the traditional foundations of horror and creates a unique blend of horror and beauty unlike any movie, horror or otherwise, that has ever been.
Bright stunning colors and gorgeous visuals make up the overpowering cinematography of the film, creating an environment reminiscent of a dark fairy tale. Even the most dimly-lit scenes stay consistent with the feel of the rest of the film.
The soundtrack is possibly one of the best horror soundtracks ever composed. A soft, haunting melody maintains the softer parts of the movie, while a nerve-wracking composition of drums and sighs keeps the blood pumping during the most frantic situations.
Even the acting and the storyline, while taking a back seat to the sound and visual aspects of the film, are fairly solid and don't distract from the most overpowering elements of the movie.
The combination of these elements make Suspiria nothing less than a horror masterpiece. Any self-respecting horror fan owes it to himself to see this movie.
