Review of Suspiria (1977) by Jonny B — 03 May 2011
The greatest horror film ever made. A brilliant dark-visual fairytale. The opening death scene is so elaborate it's awe inspiring and demands attention. The score is nothing short of the best horror-film music.
It is true that the narrative is a bit clunky but the same argument can be said about other 'classic' films. Argento has crafted a violent, insanely stylish (I cannot stress 'stylish' enough, here), creepy classic that is filled with surprises and endless creativity.
