Review of Suspiria (1977) by Andrew M — 23 Jul 2013
A glossily gore dance of death and beauty as well as a fascinating take on the power of visual illusions and sounds... contrary to many other of Argento's efforts, the truth here lies in the sounds: the footsteps and the witche's screams on the soundtrack, as opposed to the lushly surrealistic expressionist cinematography.
This is the movie that proved that horror could be art if done properly!
