Review of Suspiria (1977) by Jez M — 23 Sep 2014
While initially atmospheric and artfully directed, with a delightfully haunting musical theme, the film quickly whittles down into schlock by the end. I always feel a bit sacrilegious when taking on one of the horror genre's most widely approved critical darlings, but as the mystery is laid bare, the film becomes less and less haunting and more and more conventional.
