Suzy, a young american dancer arrives at a prestigious German ballet school, just a day after the violent death of a fellow student. Mystery and intrigue build about witchcraft build while bodies start piling up around the campus.
Arguably one of the greatest horror movies ever made, it's certainly one of the most beautiful horror movies. Legendary Italian director Dario Argento frames every scene with a surreal architecture and color to the point where you're more sucked into the cinematography than the nonsensical story about witches. Is the story resolved? No. But there are great, tense scenes leading up to the so-so finale.
The mood is set by the haunting, yet fun soundtrack by the Italian Prog-Rock band Goblin. Atmospheric and gory, this is a classic well worth the praise.
