Review of Suspicion (1941) by Randy E — 13 Dec 2004
Though Joan Fontaine (sister of Olivia De Haviland) won the best actress oscar for this rather dissappointing thriller Cary Grant does not deliver the goods nor does Hitchcock. The story which has been told time and time again centers around a heiress who suspects her playboy husband is not being totally honest.
Ingrid Bergman is much better in the other film like this Gaslight. The story settles for a happy ending but I guess Hitchcock had not developed his balls at the time of this. He waited for Psycho to finally kill off his leading lady.
