Review of Suspicion (1941) by Indira S — 28 Jul 2012
Yet another Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock movie I missed, but oh well I just recently watched it and of course I loved it. Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock are like the ultimate team because every time they make a movie together the movie is just incredible.
This movie Suspicion is a very good movie, I don't think it's better than North By Northwest or To Catch A Thief but this movie is still good. It's a very Dramatic movie about love, trust and greed, three of the many things that could make a very intriguing Mystery.
The first half of this movie is basically a romance, it's the two main characters getting to know each other and falling in love and getting married. I really liked the first half because it had great character development and it had great romantic chemistry by it's two leads.
Now in the second half of the movie it's more of a Mystery/Suspense because the main girl thinks her husband might be a killer and she doesn't know if she could trust him. The second half of the movie was just as good as the first half because you really got sucked into the story and you really wanted to know how the movie was going to end.
When the movie came to it's final conclusion you honestly felt a little disappointed, yes the movie ended pretty happy because the husband turned out not to be the killer which is good, but the movie ends a little rushed and it kind of leaves you with a few unanswered questions.
But oh well Hitchcock gave us another brilliant movie because right from start to finish I was entertained and also the performances by Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine were just fantastic, they worked great together and they defiantly had great chemistry.
So if you love Alfred Hitchcock give this movie a watch and you'll see for yourself how good this movie is.
