Review of Suspicion (1941) by Joby D — 19 Dec 2012
I really liked both Joan Fontaine and Cary Grant in this movie, but the movie itself is lame-o-la. Joan's character is nonsensically dumb, and new characters keep popping out of absolute nowhere. Where was that lady novelist even from? Joan Fontaine just shows up at her house one day, and we have to accept they know each other and that she writes mystery novels.
And then at that dinner party, who was that lady in that man's suit? Was that a not-so-secret-secret-40s lesbian? And why was she there at all? And why did Joan think ANY of the thoughts she thought ever?
